Tonnage Measurement
Tonnage measurement for vessel under 24 meters, excluding fishing vessels, is carried out on behalf of the YDSA for Part 1 registration. The vessel may be afloat when the measurement is carried out. A registered vessel has proof of title and is therefore of benefit to owners and others with a financial interest in the vessel. Most finance houses stipulate that the security of Part 1 Registration must be obtained before a marine mortgage is granted.
